The Social, Educational, Life & Financial Development program (SELF) is a uniquely designed program purposefully developed to meet the needs of students struggling in the fast pace world of education and technology. We created this program to be an extension and enhancement to academics and the social emotional development of our 21st Century learners.
The SELF program is an INDIVIDUALIZED eight week process designed to strengthen social emotional behaviors while supporting both academic and life skills progress.
The SELF program has been developed for students in grades 2-8. Our strategy is to develop an INDIVIDUALIZED Social and Emotional Learning Program (IELP) based on the results of students post Devereux Student's Strengths Assessment (DESSA). Students' evolvement is monitored throughout the eight week programming.
Participants of the SELF Program will be scheduled to meet every Saturday. We provide two hour sessions between the hours of 10:00AM - 5:00PM. Some after school sessions may be available as well. Meetings are planned at various local libraries within and near the participants residents. Meetings can also be planned at the students home upon request. In order for the program to be effective we have limited the number of students per eight week period to six.
The courses implemented for the SELF process consist of 4 distinct modules to include Self Awareness, Self management, Responsible Decision Making, and Relationship Skills. We offer addition modules for middle school students in the subjects of Career Choice & Awareness and Financial Literacy. All academic support is based on student need.
